the scout mechanic is a very niche thing to start with hardly being used and isnt likely to be used by the less experienced players that will be using this vehicle since it should be at a low tier if in the game at all. M3A1E3 variant however seems like a more useable and beter start to the tank destroyer line then the current M2A2 which already preforms pretty poorly against just about anything that isnt a flakpanzer 1 or a zis 30. it wont be able to fight tanks properly and it cant fight aircraft properly since the. it would have limited mobility and it wouldnt have a massive advantage over tanks like the M3 stuart or the M22 locust off-road and the fact that it is a wheeled vehicle also limits combat mobility since it needs far more space to properly turn. ![]() ![]() With a speed of 90 kph it should be servicable. That's why it'll get the scouting mechanics. (I do agree that we don't need this right now, but I think it would be a viable and most importantly fun addition!) (Also keep in mind that while the DShK needs a rather lengthy reload after every 50 rounds, while the Browning HMG feeds out of a box and can fire continuously.) If we can have a potato truck with a random HMG bolted to the bed (also not fully traversable!), why not this thing? It would also get the scouting features to paint targets for the team. atleast not now whilst there are more pressing matters to attend.Īs I mentioned before, it's like the Soviet DShK truck, but with better crew protection, a much better turn of speed, and much less likely to flip while turning at high speed. TL DR they dont offer anything but worse preformance then the M2A4 reserve tank and shouldnt be added. The only one that seems even remotely usefull is the M3A1E3 and even that is possible one of the less usefull tank destroyers offering bad armour, a large target, a 37mm which can not fully traverse, and above all sub-par mobility only beating the tanks at its tier in speed on a straight road. 50 cal below the M2A2 which is already 1.0 and terrible. this is asking to put a car without a fully traversable. M3A1E3: Mounted an M3 37mm anti-tank cannon in the. M3A1E1: Used a Buda diesel engine instead of the gasoline Hercules JXD. 30 caliber machine gunsĬrew (War Thunder): Driver, Commander (passenger's seat), Gunner (manning M2 machine gun), 1-2 Machine Gunners (manning M1919 machine gun(s)) 50 caliber machine gun, 1-2 Browning M1919. Maximum speed: 55 mph/89 kmh (on ideal terrain)Īrmament (combat versions): 1 Browning M2. Played well, the White could even be used as an ambush vehicle, sneaking up to a tank, dispatching it with a burst of machine gun fire, and then marking tougher enemies for teammates to attack while the vehicle zooms away. I do not believe that this weapon has a 360-degree traverse, but it would still be a more effective combat vehicle in my opinion than the DShK GAZ AAA, which has similar gun traverse, worse protection, and a slower speed. ![]() 50 caliber machine gun will be able to deal with light tanks at close range as well as low-flying aircraft. It certainly deserves to be implemented with the scouting feature this would make it a brilliant scout. ground forces line, perhaps starting off the armored car tree. I believe that the M3A1 combat car would make an excellent BR 1.0 addition to the U.S. They also saw service with units in the Free French army. 20,918 were built of all variants of these over 3,000 were lend-leased to the Soviet Union. 30 caliber M1919 machine guns mounted on a rail that allowed them to be slid back and forth to cover the vehicle's sides and rear. 50 caliber M2 machine gun mounted behind the driver's cabin and 1-2 Browning. When used as a combat vehicle it was armed with a Browning. Capable of carrying up to seven people it was sometimes used as a makeshift APC. Even after this it served in a number of secondary roles until the end of the war. It was used as a frontline patrol, scouting, and command vehicle until 1943, when it was withdrawn from combat service. Armor was light, the crew protected by only 6.4mm of hardened steel on the sides and a 13mm windscreen for the driver. Mechanically, it was a simple and reliable design, with a 4x4 frame, leaf spring suspension, and four-wheel drive, powered by a 110 horsepower Hercules JXD engine that could propel the vehicle at speeds of up to 89 km/hr. ![]() The M3A1 White Scout Car was the primary armored car in use with the U.S. Not to be confused with the M3A1 Stuart tank or the M3 Halftrack (although it served as the basis for the M3 Halftrack!)
